Winds are gusting here in Gloucs, just rang the Gloucs Police non-emergancy line, got put through to the Police contacts line, to offer my services tonight.

 

They'll ask how much you charge, i said nothing ( not after a medal!), all i know is my wife is due to give birth in less than 3 weeks and i'd be mortified if the ambulance couldnt get here coz of a downed tree!

Just doing a 10 mile radius, local council would take forever to get here! Think we should all do our bit when needed. Mrs aint happy but you never know who needs the next ambulance or fire engine!

Leave it to the guys with the contracts in place, they will go out with a JCB and shove it to the side. You are needed in the house staying safe and being there for your Mrs and bump.

Where we live we have tree's right round our house and neighbours places, the last time a tree went over the road, a medium size sycamore, I went out and started clearing it straight away in the pissing rain. The neighbour was curtain twitching the whole time then had the cheek to ask for the wood in the morning:001_tongue:
