Rob I'm guessing you use Mossbourough hall. I've used them on occasions when my chip is too bad to tip elsewhere. There is a place out near culceth that charge £20 a load apparently although I've never been.

I do indeed. The place is less than 2 minutes from me so use it all the time.

Culcheth is too far for me. My dad knows the guy from mossborough anyway.

Going back into history, the rainford family owned mossborough hall. And had something to do with the village of rainford!

We get paid for our chip. We wait till we have 2 or 3 artic loads and get a local farmer with telehandler to load it, last time we got a cheque for over £500. AHS are always calling us wanting it.

It's not all hard wood either, everything stored on soil. We are careful about making sure that there are no logs, and careful when loading not to get any soil, but if the chip is dirty/contaminated then you can get paid £5 a ton if it gets screened first. Let them know when you load it though as it goes to a different plant and if they reject it you won't get anything.

Don't pay to dump it! As others have said, find a farmer or a stables.

Call all the big tree firms in your area, they probably already ship out large volumes to the power stations every week. Strike a deal ie: you give it them for free and they get paid by the power station. Everyones a winner!

Also pop into every equestrian type place you can find. Get paid if you can, give it to them if you must but at least it keeps you away from the council tip.
