Hi there!

I need my hi-flexes to be dry for tomorrow...The boiler has decided to take a holiday so I have nowhere to dry them.

Is it OK to stick them in a tumble dryer or will they shrink?

Thanks :001_smile:

Don't know about shrinking, but it may not do the protection any good, I seem to recall it can fluff it up.

I remember reading the washing instructions on some pants years ago and it said they should be laid on a flat surface to dry.

I've (well the wife, truth be known) always just hangs them up to dry.

Check the washing instructions. I think some ones can be others can't. I know fabric softner is a no no. Its all about about keeping the chain clogging fibers in the right place and not fluffy.

You won't be the first person to wear dirty chainsaw trousers.

Dont do it, it will expand the protection inside the leg of the trousers so the amount of space left for your legs will be minimal!!

Its a definate no no. Spinning them will get rid of most of the water.

Have you actually washed them already? If not then dont, just wear them dirty like a pro!

OK I will..I suppose it should help me to pass the course too..Do you think I should spray myself with the petrol and put some oil in my hair for overall effectiveness?

Washing them is not a good idea to start with, and I believe they should only have a handfull of washes per lifetime. All the tumbling round and round doesnt do them any good.

Sure there was a thread about how it affected the fibres a while back.
