I have to buy in timber as I am not a tree surgeon and can't get hold of it any other way.

I reckon that is good value. Wood/log prices are going up, justifiably so! If heating oil has risen from 45p/litre to 65p/litre in 3 months without much murmering from Joe public. Why should firewood producers allow themselves to be shafted by joe public?
