stihl no-spill oil spouts

Does anyone actually use the spring loaded no spill OIL spout for the stihl combi cans? If so, how do you get on with it?

Ive had very mixed reports in the past, with many suggesting not to bother, but there are the odd few that have come through saying its the biggest time saver out of the two spouts on there.

Ive recently switched to Clarks bio oil which seems as though it would flow through one relatively freely but any 1st hand experience greatly received. Need a pair of new spouts on my combi can, and unsure whether to bother with the no-spill OIL one or just stick with the no spill fuel and the normal screw off top OIL one

cheers

Jim

we used them previously thinking they saved time not taking off the cap but in practice found that as they were almost full the fuel sprayed out of the tank kind of defeating the object

thats the fuel spout, not the oil spout right?

Already running a no spill fuel spout. What youve mentioned above only seems to occur when the fuel inside the can has warmed up and expanded. I tend to give the collar a precautionary press most mornings to let the air pressure out anyway

sorry

mis read

But don't you find that the fuel sprays out of the CHAINSAW:001_smile: fuel tank with the petrol quik fil caps- It was always happening with us- were we doing something wrong. I'm talking about the ones where u press them down into the tank and the fuel automatically jets out.

Hope i haven't hijacked your thread but it's closely related.

Do this every fill.

The both petrol and oil no spill spouts here, really rate them.

When full, my combi-can is now worth more than my saw!

The auto petrol spout on my Stihl can is a pain in the arse and makes me want for a Husky one again - WHY? Because whilst the spring needs to be strong there is too much plastic on plastic friction (tightness) in the spout so that it won't open and I have to practically sit on the upended canister when filling the saw to get it open and flowing!
