I would recomend a 24 inch bar (the one you have looks like 30???). Keep the longer bar for occasional use, a 24 inch bar on a 066 is an amazing thing!

I have a strange love for my 066, its my second oldest saw and it still amazes me how good it is, I go from ms200 to 066 in the tree, no point messing with 460's etc. they are just ground saws.

Spot on

You want a 24" bar and a 8 tooth rim!!

am i right in saying the 25inch bar i brought for my 441 for milling will fit the 660 (thats why i went for a 30inch bar) good gess rupe

I don't think you can swap the bars, the distance bettween the mounts and the sprockets is different, hang on I'll check the catalogue.................

Won't happen mate:thumbdown:

We will get the 661, with new caps

I'll buy a new 660 (with old caps) before the stop production.

WHSaid - new caps being reserved for 661 altho Stihl did toy with the idea of putting them on the 66. 461(2) and 661(2) have apparently been prototyped but production and testing always a big secret - I have seen a picture of "a 461" but it could have been a teaser or fake. Likewise I'll be buying a 660 when discontinue is on the horizon; bought my 460 last year thinking it was going sooner - might buy another!

Um, the part number for the chain is the same for 24inch bar on both saws, but the part number for the bar is different but thats only becaue they list the rollamatic E bar for the 441 and the rollamatic E Super for the 66.

SO thats not conclusive but I still dont think it will fit. HAve a try and see, and let us know.

I was going to suggest he asked you JUstin.!

Thats cool then, it all fits.

Put the 24 inch on the 66, put a 18-20 inch on the 441 and happy days.

Plus add the 8 tooth sprocket ( as huck says) on the 66 and you are away, although I think you then need an extra chain link? Not sure, its been a while since I used an 8 tooth but I think I will go back to it!

id love one of these, my biggest atm is a husky 365 but it struggles on a 24" bar, its not actually my saw so id like one of my own!

a 660 with a 30" bar would be great for doing site clearance, plus it would go right down to an 18 or 15! which would turn it into a monster!

i love shiny stuff!
