Yeh it was decieving. Also there is a river running to the rear of the tree within 3m of the stem. Also the buildings were very close, old and fragile with asbestos roofing. The building is still operational so that combined with the need for a quick removal due to blocking the main egress and delivery road meant the crane was the best, safest, quickest and most cost effective way of serving the clients wishes.

Cheers mate, yeh we got a damn good crew on at the moment. Is a good feeling when you can look around at the lads and pretty much know they are each on the ball in their respective roles. Got good climbers on as well as really decent groundsmen, the boss is on the money with his timing and recommendations and the office secretary is involved and professional, am happy at Bartletts York at the moment . Am sure there will be more pics to come. Have been away from arbtalk for a while but am gonna make an effort to be more active on the forums in future. Cheers.

I was wondering why the need for the crane till I saw the size of the timber being lifted out.....first picture didnt do the size of the tree justice

 

 

I thought the same, I think in that pic the crane is much nearer the camera than the tree.

 

That is one big tree and looks like it was removed in a very efficient manner
