We started smashing this out over the past 2 days. We couldn't get anything wider than the transit through the old stupid manor house gate so it ruled a crane out but on the plus side i could get right under the tree for chipping. Tom climbed all of day 1 and until midday today (hes only been climbing for about 8 months):thumbup1:. He did really well and i hope it was a good learning curve. I took over removing the large timber sections and thoroughly hated using his DRT setup! Anyway theres 99 pics so heres the link. Bad Access Beech | Facebook

You can get city cranes that are as narrow as 6ft for access.

Yeah but they only extend to 21m this tree is taller than that (25.2m according to the clinometer). The 6t lift at zero extension is good but imo they would of ended up costing me money by not being suitable for the job.
