I'm guessing it's so you can put shed-loads of pretension on if required?

Thats what i was thinking but you can pre tension with a hobbs anyway like the grcs:001_huh:

John nice to see you felled that tree to rescue a trapped dog:001_rolleyes: You couldn't enlighten me on the use for the high pulley block above the hobbs?

 

it will be to make sure the rope feeds into the hobbs at a better angle

Nice work Frank, Bloomin big Ash. Did you have an ecological survey done or just as you went?

 

Yeah, we camped out for a fortnight using night vision cameras installed in different parts of the tree and did 18 pre work climbs. Set up a wildlife perimiter zone of 4 miles and had a team of 24 ecologists reporting results.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(or we may have just done some visual checks as we installed the ropes) cant remember now as it was last tuesday. Haha.
