Not exactly tree pics but a couple of some NZ native mistletoe (Tupeia antarctica I think) that is now endangered due to possum browsing etc. Some species are now limited to the odd island in the Hauraki Gulf or are extinct altogether so one of the locals has taken it upon herself to find suitable host trees and let the mistletoe loose. This one is on Council land but has been done in conjunction with council and department of conservation.

Cool. Mistletoe is an odd thing! I always wondered where it came from and then saw huge 7' balls in a couple of poplars. When we sell it at Christmas I encourage people to grow their own!

I wasn't aware that you could 'grow your own' I thought the seed had to pass through the digestive system of a bird before it would germinate

As you squeeze the seeds and the sticky stuff comes out with it you just stick that in a union somewhere on an apple or poplar, there another species it grows on too but can't remember. People seem surprised you can and it's so simple. It's semi parasitic and is generally spread by birds as they wipe their beaks on branches to get them off. I should have a go myself really and see if I can manage any!
