Nothing spectacular. Our new, old groundie or old, new groundie depending in how you look at it. 56 or 57 and has been on with us a couple of months now. This is his third climb but first work climb. Second rec climb was a 50m Redwood. Decided that we'd treat him after all his hard graft so asked him if he wanted a crack at dismantling this Pine. I bombed out the adjoining tree and then my 2ic spent some time on one to one training. First time using a chainsaw up a tree, first time on spikes. He gave it a good crack but gave it best about a third of the way through. Spikes, chainsaw, work positioning was good but a branch walk was a little too much. Awesome effort though we thought.

couple of shots of a small elm i was asked to prune away from the house and balance a bit and light thin.

i dont do loads of reductions so any feedback would be good.

Pretty simple deadwood we did last week, thought I'd show it as it's the biggest oak I've ever done. We had it at around the 100ft mark maybe slightly less with a 2m dbh. On a sadder note though the house has been put in 2 years ago and the oak is shooting a lot of epi and starting to die back at some of the tips. I'm sure it's had a good innings tho!

 

 

She had a nice set of swingers (canker) on her that I'm sure some wood carvers would enjoy when it does come down!
