If I'm getting this it looks the nuts - pull line and lowering line in one?

 

Is there not a risk though that the line will not choke up round the limb and it could slip out?

mark, you only attach the second krab when you put on the strop, and then groundie takes them both off on the deck, but steves idea of slipping the strop though the eye and then onto a revolver is tip top, if you dont have one then stick on a little pulley, it wont work with piddly light stuff and a didnt try it with branches, just a bit of timber, so there was nothing to catch, just a bit of messing about but it seems to have created abit of interest.

the way i see it is the timber is zip lining down its own rope to save you having a guide rope to pull it over the hedge as well as a rigging rope. is that right stevie?

Aahhh - I was getting muddled about which bit was being lowered, I thought you were throwing the line over the bit about to be cut, then lowering off the purple strop, but I see now it's the other way round.

 

Got it after reading your thread in climbing forum, and yes, I have ended up with lines chokered round limbs they are not meant to be on, you cheeky wee monkey!

 

Think you could be onto a winner here Stevie. I'm going to have a play with it for sure.

 

You'll have to come up with a name for it, and maybe post one of your instructional vids?

first pic ive posted on this thread, a medium sized contorted willow to reduce by 25-30%, didnt get a before, i always forget.

some of the tips are a bit long because when i tried to bring them back in they just broke off, so i didnt bother.
