Tax Credits!

Nowadays people expect to be nannied by the state, they think it s their right to be looked after. The slightest bit of hardship they expect to be baled out or subsidised by everyone else.

 

I had an extremely hard and underpriveleged upbringing, with no support from the social. You only used to get support when you were homeless or jobless.

 

My mother brought us up on her own due to constant domestic violence and hospitalisation from my abusive father. She had to hold down two jobs and go to the butchers for bits of meat and roll ends "for the dog" to help feed us. We could only afford to have one bath a week and thats when the electric was on. We got teased and bullied at school because we wore cheap clothes and shoes

 

Nowadays people who claim tax credits can still:

 

Afford Mc'Ds for their kids.

 

Have play stations, fancy computors and sky tv for their kids

 

Have a holiday abroad for their kids

 

Go to the cinema with their kids

 

Tax credit is a load of bollox in the majority of cases. The majority who claim it dont know what hard times are

So cos you didnt have it, no one else else should? Come on, times have moved on, I'm the same generation as you, I had (by the sounds of things) pretty much the same background as you, though I wasnt so aware of it at the time, my mother has told me a lot since my dad passed on. I've fought tooth and nail to give my kids an upbringing I wish I'd had, and was glad of the Credits when I was on a low income to help me do that for them. We mustnt dwell in the past, but move on to a better future. I'll have another Guiness now, thanks, happy days:thumbup:

yeah i think tax credits are awesome. at 250 a month i have manyaged to get new playstation and loads of games for it.

i did not know that huck!! how much are you supose to pay to recieve a state pension?

so what would happen in the retiring situation the state would give you nothing?.

 

If you stop working at 65 you would have to claim the means tested benefits such as "income support", just as you would if you were out of work now.

 

If you pay a "full stamp" you are entitled to the dole and a pension (the amount of pension you get depends on the years you have paid full stamp for, I think its 30 years for a full pension)

 

I have no intention of retiring, I just want to cut back on the number of days I work.

 

I have a small private pension, which should help me a little.

my mum brought me and my brother up pretty much the same way your mum did , sadly it brought my mum to her knees and stopped her working for several years due to her condition , sadly my brother was at uni and i was un able to earn enough as an aprentice tree surgeon to help much , even working nights in a kitchen it was still not enough - Does this mean my mum still did not deserv some help from the state ?

 

several years later my mum was back working as much as she could , had met a great bloke and re-married , sadly it only lasted 5 years and my step dad died suddenly whilst playing football with my step brother - sadly the way that things worked out my mum was once again left with nothing other than trying to work full time in a supermarket on low wages - does this mean she still does not deserv any help or "tax credits" ?? Well guess what ?? she has been left high and dry to sort everything out her self and take on sewing work to try and make ends meat .

 

Personally i think she deservs some help from the "state" . the sooner some people get the idea that rewarding the people working sadly for a low wage and for long hours with tax credits is far better than people not working the better . i dont mind if i have offended any pompas tossers whilst taking the time to wright this.Im sure you have all done a job for someone on tax credits that may have used some of the money to pay you for what you have done , does that mean your a sub sponger in your eyes ? na didnt think so im pretty sure your rose tainted specs will allow you to see strait past that one .
