First Yard machine

Hi all,

Looking to buy our first yard machine

Can't decide what'd be best to get :confused1:

Got about £3.5k....maybe go to 4.5k

Want it initially to load crates of logs onto the truck

Do we go for an old tractor loader, then we can get trailers, splitters processors etc as cash flow allows

Or maybe a teleporter,

Or maybe a skid steer, then we can get attachments at a later date

if we buy either of the last two, when we eventually buy a processor, we'd only have to buy a standard tractor, because we'd have the lifting machine

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

HELP :lol::lol::lol:

Loader tractor would be my bet. Would have a fair few hours on it but it would be the most versatile.

A telehandler is a fantastic be bit of kit if you need one. 4 wheel steer is great as it a telescopic boom. But you'd be looking at spending about 15k for a half decent one. Friend spent 20k on on and the diff lock has never worked.

Tractor and loader. Cheap telehandlers are a waste of money that will cost you an absoloute fortune. A tractor and loader is a VERY versatile tool, handlers are very limited, unless you buy the manitou or merlo farm machines with 3pl etc, but they are exceedingly expensive.
