So far I've tried the Klimbas, Meindles and Elten aquafells. The Klimbas I found good for dismantles and take downs if you're on spikes all day. They are a very stiff solid boot and very comfy. They can be a bit big for smaller trees with tight crotches though and I found myself getting my foot stuck all the time. I can't speak highly enough of the Meindle airstreams. Waterproof (so far), comfy, warm and excellent for climbing in. Still stiff around the ankles which means excellent support but they are a lot tighter in the toe than the Klimbas which are better for bigger or wider feet. As for the aquafells; I'd leave those for people who just want to do ground work. They started to fall apart after a couple of months and they feel more like a pair of old slippers; comfortable but all floppy around the edges and they offer little support.

Haix tibet Forest Pro - had two pairs so far, first set did over two years in the wood, second set haven'ty done that much so far. Dead comfy, proper sole with grip on it and also waterproof.

 

Had the old stihl brown ones - OK (6-8 months)

Had the stihl ones whioch look like elten fellsman - OK (6 months)

Had some old black oregon ones with red soles - liked em - (12-15 months)

Had one good pair of husky ones (2 years) but then they changed colour and three pairs went back after a few weeks.

I've had the Protector pro's getting on for 2 years and can't fault them. Really comfy and loads of support. Hard wearing aswell.

I use Hiax protector pros. Had 3 pairs and nearly time for a 4th. Last about a year to 18 months. Not bad considering. I use to use Treeme boots before that which was fine until all of a sudden they ripped my feet to shreds.

for the past 20 months i've had the oregon ones that to be honest have lasted but they were never that comfy to start off with and a bit big and cumbersome for climbing in hence why they aren't on the list and i would like to try something different.

Haix Protector for me, I'm on my 8th pair.

 

They require no maintenance and are like wearing slippers straight from the box.

 

I used to have real problems with my feet, chilblains and the like, I now never give my feet a second thought, they are always 100% dry, even when the rest of me is soaked to the skin.

 

They are expensive and rarely last more than 12 months, but are worth every penny in my book.

 

Ditto, except from problems with my feet! Remember at 2000-3000 hrs a year in them, £180ish and lasting a year is ok with me generally!

Protector lights, the mobility is brilliant, especially in trees and their durability means they've already outlasted my old stihls with plenty of life left to boot (boom boom)

 

Nothing in the way of gore-texy lining, but I've not had soaked feet in them once, not even on hot dry days!

 

Just in case you didn't know about them - the new Haix Airpower Gold's are basically a Protector Light, but with Goretex liners...
