i had someone phoning about firewood last year. They started asking about price per volume and then moisture content (thought wait a min this is a rival) then the next question was can i come and see the wood?? total random i thought anyways but i went with it so a wee while later there was a car turned up and out gets nervous loking guy so i took him round to the wood and after 5 min of looking and picking it up and looking somemore he decides to buy a load!! A few months later he want to come back and look at the wood again even though it was the same wood before buying anther load.

I think I may ring all the other tree guys in my area and get a price for removing a tree from my garden, so I can find out what they charge!!!

aye well maybe!! I just thought it was really really random it wasnt the phone call / action of a normal house holder but then it turned out to be jsut that!! so i guess i am trying to say that some of the calls you think are from cowboys/competitors could be joe public who has read up on the net etc and got the proper questions to ask

Exactly. That was the point I was trying to make. Just because someone asks an educated question doesn't make them a rival log dealer trying to step on your turf haha.
