i should have a boardwise orange blank with some venture trucks somewhere, i skated to commute. 2/3 mile skates were teh norm. i prefer to play outta town

I have an old, Dogtown Scott Oster deck from the mid eighties stored in the garage.

 

I have been told that a old friend of mine, an original seventies skater, then back into it in the eighties, (he was featured in the old Rad magazine), has got back into skating, he must be around 45 years old by now.

RAD, i remember it well. i used to love reading that, and watching the old vids.

 

i was never a great skater either but did used to love doing it.

Perelta deck, old school trucks, and for nice soft wheels we used to buy roller boot wheels.

always wanted the lance mountain deck, couldnt afford one though..i forget the make of the board i had last but it wasnt great.

R ead A nd D estroy - I remember the mag well... skating is a blast from the past. gonna try and pick up some old pics and scan them in. we used to go through a couple of films a week trying to get the magazine style photo...

 

Steve, I know what you mean about the facilities these days. the amount of building sites we used to rob for ply and 2"x2" to build our mini ramps and fly offs is pretty bad when you think about it. Now i drive along and there are ramps / complexes all over. I used to cadge lifts to washington (nr newcastle) just to ride a decent half pipe and mini. c'est la vie!!!:wave::wave:

I have a couple of new deal decks in my old fellas garage. Used to have the dogtown chalkboard - the base was just like a teachers chalkboard so you could draw your own graffics... I never was a graffic skater though! as soon as you had a new deck or trucks, set it up, no rails and find the gnarliest brick wall to christen the old girl.:wave:

one of the guys i used to sk8 with set up this place. he made a killing when tony hawks pro sk8er came out.

cheers high scale.danny way once dropped out off a helicopter into a vert ramp.i used to have the poster on my wall.epic
