Chainsaw Trousers

You may all be wondering why I've put this thread in here and not in a differnt bit - I'm after a set of new Trousers and I'm struggling a bit to find what I want. Everything I seem to find is shiny and blingy and don't look like they'd stand up to constant abuse in the wood.

 

I don't want the heavy old entry level ones that both stihl and Husky do but likewise don't want the tight fitting ones made of shell suit (which seemed all I could find at the APF)

 

Always used to wear Husky/Jonsered Pro Light and liked them as they lasted well and were sensible money but I have a feeling they've stopped making them now. My current pair are just starting to reach the end of their life so I'm looking for some replacements.

 

Anyone got any suggestions for a hard wearing, comfy and sensible priced pair of trousers for Forestry (as opposed to Arb)?

the guys i work with that never climb have stihl forestwear classics

there similiar to hiflexs but baggy instead of streatchy

or the stretchair type a's

dito to that both pairs are confy and last pretty well just get type as instead of cs

Stihl advance mate cheapish 120 quid a pair light weight and ive worn mine 6 days a week for 18 monthst and theyll still see this year out their comfy as hell and in no way blingey 20 out of 10 in my opinion.

I have Some Strech Air extremes that apart from the zip seem to have been unharmed by two years in the forest. Have some technical 20 type As from Husky which two have been very good. Have a old pair of SIP Freedoms with the protection around the calf as well which are very good. Bit warm though.

Just been having a look at he ones mentioned so far - did have some of the Stihl forestwear ones once and they were far too warm, but were comfy.

 

Liking the look of the Stihl Advance, the stretch airs just a bit much at the mo.

 

just done a bit more digging and seems theres an odd few pairs of Prolights still kicking about around £90 if I can get some the right size.

the stretch airs will last twice as long as a regular pair of trousers chris, that makes them a cheap buy imo

Seriously I think the gladiators (type A) would be your best bet.

Are the stretch airs a tight ball hugging fit, no good if you are well endowed with meaty thighs!
