I have two great inventions, but, well theres no way I'm telling anyone till I'm a trillionaire.

BTW not saying your kinetic rope is a crap idea but wasn't there a thread on here ages ago saying they weren't any good?

Feel free to correct me because I didnt know what a kinetic rope was then and have never used one.

The idea was more for shock cord which is elastic inside a multiplat outer. the multiplat outer allows so much stretch then stops, bit like a bungee jumping cord, infact a bungee jumping cord rated at 8 tonne or so would be ideal

Exactly something like that Ady, It has the strength factor but not the stretch factor

I already have a kinetic energy strap Ady, but they only have a stretch factor of 20% which would mean you only get an initial pull of 0.9m then the power would tail off. You would need to put 3 in a row to build up enough elasticity.

If you set up a three to one pulley system, would you then end up with 60% stretch over the distance from tirfor to tree, as there would be 3x as much rope??

the last thing you want is a bungee rope when doing descent size leaners, it is all about control. A lot of the old skidders would have a small fast winch (aswell as a big grunter of a winch)that you would attach lower on the stem, so when it was on its way you could pull a lever and get it down quick.

Yes, lower down the stem really speeds things up!!!:thumbup1:

By the time this comes into use, all saws will have a flux capacitor and run from household waste and banana skins!! :001_tongue:

Haha, one day everyone on here will be using my idea. The trouble is I dont think I'll make a penny from it as I've probably been stitched up.

A hoover thing under the hedge cutter so you dont have to pick up the clippings :thumbup1:

A fuel tank on the saw with a reserve ( even a spoonfull) for them back cuts that are nearly finished and it runs out of fuel aaaagggghhhhhh!!!!
