Were over run down here at the moment with people setting up log buissnesses ,and the prices are up and down like a whores drawers,i dont sell by the dumpey bag but if i did id charge 50 quid, the same as i charge for half a load, its getting so comptetive that unless the woods given to you or you cut it yourself its hard to make a living, cordwood used to be good but the profit margins arent big enough, anymore im seriously thinking about making this season my last, its a shame cause ive been doing it for 4 years,im just waiting to see what happens when winter realy starts, will these cheap skates be able to meet the demand, hopefully we on the other hand have have about 200 tons ready to go,so roll on winter.

Here in South Birmingham one of the local tree surgeons is doing cubes for £25-30 mixed wood, basically because he gets it free. Business wood suppliers charge about £50 for a cube.

all reverts back to same problem unfortunatly....... there isnt enough people that actually understand what a cube is!!!!! apart from most members on here!!!!! search on the big auction website for 'logs' ...... you will begin to understand how the public have no idea what a cube is when the people selling a cube dont know what it is either!!!!!! either way,,,d be more than happy to deliver 3 cube on my hilux for £180, level load thou!!!!:001_huh::thumbdown:

I just delivered a m3 bag to a new customer today. When he ordered he asked what size a cubic meter is. I told him roughly 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 and a bit feet. He got it then.

Charged £80 btw.

Been very busy althrough summer at £145 for 2 cu . Now £160 . Charge what you like in december. It takes one person in your area to raise their price and the rest will follow but it takes a brave man if you rely on the money. Some years I have been too expensive and business was slow in sep oct nov but always sold out by february. There is a huge demand for firewood dont sell your self short.
