Hello Happy, welcome to the site.

Maybe you could paint a slightly clearer picture as to your experience so far?

That way members will be able to gauge what level to interact.

If you haven't already, try using the search function on the tool bars above, huge numbers of threads & topics to wet your appetite.

hi to all sorry to the late reply I have been just a bit busy, I've noticed as I been going round that lots of tree surgeons seem to be only using one rope I don't understand why they do this. As far as I'm concerned and the training I received you need to be using two ropes and not one. Surely this is a legal requirement or am I getting mixed up I wouldn't mind some feedback regarding this personally I think the two ropes system is far safer and reliable than just one.

Many thanks the happy tree man:001_rolleyes:

I dont think its a legal requirment that could be a bit far but im sure H&S would frown upon it. I think its stupid to climb on both of ends of your rope its more of a liability than a saftey tecqniue. but i agree you should be in twice where ever possible.

welcome:001_smile:

You need to be attached to the tree by two separate ropes, when cutting most people use a side strop or lanyard for this, in addition to their main line.

If you prefer to main lines thats fine :001_smile:
