Should I be a tutor/trainer?

Recommended Posts

Yes, wise words, but I was already aware that this was "underground" lol

too obscure, will lose me a fortune, but by golly i will enjoy doing it!

Go for it. If Alfred Wainwright had listened to people who said "what you messing about at" then the lake district might not be the same place it is now.

Follow your path mate.

I cant believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Frank:001_smile: To me fungi books are just that, a series of pics that bore me. But to take the idea a step further, including your walks, climbing trees, visiting places and so on coupled with the beautiful pics you take may just make it appealing to a wider audience. I love the format of G Beraneks High Climbers, combine this with something like Meeting Remarkable Trees and i think you get the idea. Put your enthusiasm into words and pics, dont make it just another ref book.

I cant see you teaching per se, but what I can see is you doing a series of lectures/seminars off the back of your book.

So what and who offers training for trainers?

You are presumably going to be in the “life long learning sector” (adult education)

The entry level qualification in that area revels in the title “Preparation to teach in the life long learning sector” (PTTLS)

It is available in a few formats, many colleges offer it as a part time course (evening classes)

I think the convention of sylabus would drive you even more bonkers (if at all that's possible :001_tongue:)

Can't imagine the green backs would be hugely inspiring either, but I get that you would maybe just get enough reward from inspiring others.

Franks idea could well be where your destiny lies imho.

Brilliant concept, and with the right backing, pretty sellable.

Your developing close links with the likes of CM, TG & NF (if proposed to them the right way) could open up a raft of oportunities for a book deal. Especially if you managed to convince a patron of the calibre of HRH big ears, to get on board.

Now I wonder where you could get that type of intro from..........:sneaky2::biggrin:

Much food for thought I believe :001_smile:
