Why:confused1:

If you asked, Hardwood?? or Softwood??, I could see the sense, but I don't see how logging and felling, aren't forestry??:confused1:

WELL- i should hae said firewood instead of logging , forestry , arb work , i was asking because it may be that one saw out preforms the other in that application

Should i have also asked if it was soft wood or hardwood they were cutting up of felling etc:001_tt2::laugh1:

ive mainly used husky 357s or stihl ms260 , mainly felling trees and would say the husky was better (especially with bore cuts) the stihl ms 260 didnt seem to have as much torque

Are you sure the stihl didn't have as much torque? Or did it just not rev it's knackers off. Haha

going to be using the saw for tree surgery possibly sometimes in the tree but mostly on the ground

i probably would go for the husky, but this is only personal preference .

its high reving with plenty of grunt , also i find their shape makes then a little more comfortable to work with in a tree .

doesnt make a whole world of difference get hold of one of each and see whats comfortable to use for you, if you were doing 24" dia timber most the time then i would say the 460 if <20" probably the 372, if its between these two then there will in the real world be very little to choose from, so your comfort as an operator is more important, i prefer then way the 372 handles feel to a 440/460 but i dont like the 576xp as much, so would probably pick up a 460 now, it really is dependant on supplies of parts locally, although many larger mail order firms can get me parts for the following day and the local dealer can be several days! as they have to order parts in.

but above all pick up both saws carry them round the dealership no matter how much of a fool you feel and look, and pretend to make the felling cuts and lifting the saw over a trunk, see how fluid it feels to you, and then make your choice
