just popped into my village tractor garage tonight for some 2 stroke oil,i have a pint with the proprietor most weekends, tried to sell me an echo or two, picked up a 60cc-ish model, not impressed, felt cumbersome and averagely built.picked up the smaller one, felt good, chuckable and strong! they don't do demos so i took it off the shelf, fuelled it up,warmed it up then revved it.I have to say it felt responsive, offered with a 2 year warranty and the on/off switch was metal like the old jonsered/dolmar quality.I think it was a 31 something model??? anyone any experience good or bad of them? :001_smile:

i have a cs 350?? or something like. i don't use it much as i have a husky 339 top handle saw which has a good bit more power. however it is a good little saw for thinner stuff- about 4 inch or less (a bit limitting!) it does not feel very robust when lugging up trees.very good on price though!!

A guy i worked for a while back got given 3 brand new echo saws a small one MS200 size a mid range saw and a big 80cc with 30" bar. the mid range was a bit heavy and dind;t measure up to our stihls of the same size for power to weight, or reliability. The small one was good light enough to use one handed if necessary. the big one was powerful enough but destroyed it's piston rings and lost compression after about twenty minutes of cutting twice and th eother two were always going wrong, the chains dropped alot, for no good reason this resulted in alot of time spent fixing saws instead of working. also when they arrived they had all been filled with petrol in both the petrol tank and the oil tank's
