Wow, cheers for the comments guys. Barefeet-this is to protect the tree and its many lichens from our boots, kauri hold a fantastic array of different trees, liverworts, lichens,moss,orchids and we dont want to stand and destroy them-you never when a botanist may want to climb and study the tree at a later date and it wouldnt be a good look if our boots had just scraped a500yrold patch of epiphyte off. and its also quite nice climbing barefoot on a nice day.

The film was shot by a pro camera crew over acple of days-the major pain is getting the gear into the bush and set in diff trees-we had portaledges set up in variour trees, etc.. The purpose was to help get finance for our mission to do all of the ten tallest trees of NZ. cheers
