tom dont listen to his mindles exscuses , bri decided that because he could not get spiners for that size of tyre then he would paint the rims with my stihl marking paint , to top things off he wants to do the same to his tractor when he gets it so that it blends in with the rest of his rig .

 

on a serious note i will text in the morning mate .

if you weld it up be prepared to do the bearings every 6 months unless you get it balanced ,was quoted around £800 from westcon for a new fly wheel though!!could get two bearings for £120 only thing was it would wear the seals on the hydrolic pto pump and they are £350 a pop!!

Repairing a cracked weld isn’t going to add enough weight to create any sort of imbalance in the flywheel.

 

If you do need to make serious repairs to a flywheel you can do a bit of home balancing.

I agree.

 

When you think about the fly wheel whacking into lumps of wood and chip being battered by the paddles, a few grams of weld here or there won't make much difference.

 

My schiesling front mount has a light weight flywheel, they a basically cut out two big scallops out of the fly wheel and fill the gap with some thiner plate, it has cracked several times where the plate is welded in, its been ground out and re-welded and has been fine, with no bearing problems.
