Hopefully just muscle strain. Bad news is it will probably get worse before it gets better - but it will get better.

Try not to sit about to much after the first 48 hrs. Keep gentle movement going otherwise the muscles just contract and pull you into agony.

Been there- like a lot of others - absolute nightmare - it will get better

get some ice on it and learn from this incident, i suffered a bad back and injuries like that for over 13 years, then i joined a gym and got some great advice and a work out to suit my job. I have been pain free for over 4 months now. The problem is usually tight hamstrings, weak glutes and poor work positioning. core excercises is the key. As others say, keep moving but get ice on and take some inflamiteries like ibuprofen and i hope you get well soon

Sorry to read about back.

They could write a book on my back and the crap its been through. My advice as many others - rest at first then little and often to build back up (no pun intended). Anti-inflams and good pain killers will help but only use them at first coz they can mask the warning signs if things go backwards again.

Don't go physio - they don't know what they are treating any more than you do without an MRI (they put me in Newcastle for my last op!)

Penrith! - small world.
