go into the video forum and take a look at some of RCO's videos, he is probably the best there is in this country, blew me away when i watched his big beech crane removal and i have been climbing for over 12 years for a living. You will see all the kit getting used correctly and professionally.:thumbup1:

I dont think you can better being trained ???

Looking at vids etc if you have a basic understanding or training is good but from a novices perspective could be a dangerous thing......?

Plus you could get the bonus of bleeding to death up a leylandii

what i was saying is that maybe its best to wait until you do your course rather than using ropes and harrness and not knowing what to do with em. You could get yourself into all sorts of bother and then you wont ever be able to climb wait until you know what your doing then do it til your hearts content.

i dont really get what you mean on any of that:confused1:

I suggested he looked at the vids so he can see all the correct equipement as this is what the thread is about, not teaching yourself how to climb from a vid.:001_smile:

and i guess the last bit is sarcasm, well hopefully:sneaky2::biggrin:

You can't do cs38/39 without doing cs30/31 first so your looking at a good chunk of money to do it properly, either pack in tree work as with out the proper training you p/l insurance will be worth nowt or worse you will get badly hurt or do what most guys on here have done, invest a good few grand on training, blood, sweat and hard work and do it properly.

You get very few second chances with trees and chainsaws!

Why do gardeners and Landscapers insist on doing tree work, you never see roofers doing plumbing or joiners fitting bogs! sorry having a gen rant not aimed at you mate.
