Beech monolithish...

A nice return to tree work after mostly building stonewalls over the past 2 months, today was someone slses job, i just climbed and brought the chipper. Very small quick beech to remove first, then this larger, 50'-ish thing to reduce to a monolith at the owners request- surry boy moved down last year- as there is a huge wound running up the trunk, which he wanted to leave for the bugs and beasts. Refreshing attitude i thought.

 

Some of the tree had been removed in the past, as is visible from neat pruning cuts up the trunk.

 

Although there wasnt any need to preserve the grass under the tree, I dusted off the RC200 lowering device and a pulley to swing everything round the other side as i was working over a border full of shrubs.

That 2000 is brilliant. Really well made, and some nice bits that the portawrap seems to be missing, such as the top attachment, allowing slack to be taken out rapidly when cutting above the craning point. There is soo little difference in the price of it and the smaller one that i cant see any point in gettign that one. Go for it mate.

Very refreshing attitude.....good work tommer. You should maybe get back there at some point and put a lovely coronet in that stub....its crying out for it!
