Groundsman needed

Lets be honest here it will be interesting to see if stevie gets anyone as just about everyday there is a thread started saying "someone help me find work" "i just need a chance" will relocate for work" "Give me a chance to prove myself etc etc "

Well here is an excellent chance for someone to enter into the industry and work on a one to one basis with a guy we all know is sucsesfull, does a variety of work and has all the kit.

I think the learning curve on not just tree related work but customer care and pr would be numerical and would elevate a young up lad further up the "arb" food chain than working in a large company.

So good luck with it, also all yous reading and thinking "should i" id say go for it what have you got to lose??.

Definitely an a good job description very frank and to the point. I think he will get someone to do it as it seems there is a lot of desperate people wanting to get there foot in the door and will do it for nothing and work under any conditions to start with

My personal view is on the employment of others is I would want to give them work conditions that I would be happy to work under myself.

I would want someone that would work hard for me with with a cheerful face and happy to do whats needed with a passon for there work, working to the best of there ability.

This is the way I work so would expect this in return . Some of the conditions in this add I would not expect anyone working for me to work under I believe people are human and should be treated accordingly.

I am not going to polish this up and i dont tolerate idiots so if this is you then email ME, i am not going to PM or phone YOU.

I want you to tell me you will work until you cant, you wont moan or groan and talk nonesense just to impress, you will work late with out question and never use your mobile phone at work or be a smoker, turn up hung over and always be presentable and in a good mood whether you are lifting logs or picking up hedge cuttings. You will clean out the vans and trucks, after work in your own time because it will of been you that left it full of crap, you wont try and take me to court if you fall off a kerb, trip over a rake and if you have a ticket to say you can do it then be it on your own head if you have an accident because i am not loosing my house because you are incompotent and want an easy life. You will not steal from me, either assets or work. This is the real world and not an advert in a glossy arb magazine, you will go home wondering what that smell is, and it will be you, hungry, tired and stinking of sweat, i will pay you on time every week for the work you have done, i will tell you once and expect you to do it to the best of your ability and more, you will need to learn quick and the words WHY and NO shall not be in your vocabulary, you will need to impress me from the second we make contact, i dont like swearing on site, football or racism we will be working very close together from 8am till when ever we go home and i dont know when that will be from one day to the next, i wont drop you off for a haircut and anything bar tree related stuff is in your own time. Dont even think about asking me about wages because i will decide that after your week that you are going to work for nothing as an interview, i have a excellent reputation for my work ethic and jobs that i do, i am not going to waste a life time of hard work and discipline on someone who doesnt care. If this is something that you can offer me then i would love to hear from you.:thumbup1:

Unless I'm mistaken, the person Stevie is looking for is already out there, working for himself. Good luck in your quest Stevie, this is your toughest challenge to date!!:001_smile:

A very good point. That is just a discription of a self employed person. With a few extra rules. Haha.

In fairness to the guy, the lad I started out with was exactly like that (except the paying on time bit, we got paid whenever it was convenient for the boss to put the cheque in your hand). Reckon he may go through a few lads who didn't believe or didn't take seriously what he said in the ad (and boy will they be in for a surprise!!). Eventually he will get the goundy he wants, and in the mean time will have the pleasure of torturing a few moaners.

My experience, tells me anyone who speaks to potential staff that way is getting the BS out of the way from the word go and will actually be a pretty decent guy to work for.
