My mate went to pick up his nice new shiny ipohone today. Qued up for twenty minutes then got told they sold out! lol.

Should do what i do, stick with the old sony ericcson, does what its meant to and wont ruin your day if found to have cracked screen due to log carrying.

i'll try again,,, it's NOT the iphone4, it's the IOS 4 software update on the 3gs.... nothing to do with reception issues,,, if you check the link you'll see it's a totally different issue to the one you are highlighting..:001_tt2:

anyone on 3ga or 3g looking to do the software update should read this first.

seems LOADS of users having issues,, have to admit i'm one of them and it's driving me up the wall..

Apple - Support - Discussions - iOS4 update - now iPhone now reboots ...

I was about to download IOS4 to my 3GS until I had a chat with ady last night, should say tried to have a chat, he has a serious problem with his phone rebooting about 3-4 minutes into a call, we ended up having 5 very short coversations, absolute nightmare and all since downloading the new software.

I think i'll give it a miss for now.

Good luck ady trying to resolve the problem, give me a shout if there's owt I can do.

UPDATE.. whilst apple have still not actually acknowledged there is an issue officially they are aware of this problem, so much so that after spending some time on the phone with apple support they agreed to replace my phone,,

only issue was their system was down and they couldnt action it.

so anyway, called them again yesterday, the advisor said "oh, it says here i'm to get a senior advisor if you call"

so 2 mins later I'm off to the apple store and they swap my phone out, no questions asked, just a nice shiny new one,

just to clarify for all those that can't be bothered to read the thread.

this is for the issues with iphone 3GS where it reboots if a call lasts longer than 5 minutes, NOT he reception issues on iphone 4.

i'm not having any problems with my 3gs running ios4.

re: the iphone 4 - couldn't bring myself to pay almost £300 for a higher res screen, 2 more mega pixels, higher res video and a light. So, i got the 3gs for free.
