no dont think its CE marked but the discription states that its a prusik line that will last :confused1: i know this stuff is supposed to be good but heard that the inner core gets very hot comp to the outside a no visable way of seeing damage . just a thought ,thats why it does not meet CE ? im no expert but its not got it for a reason but is still sold :001_tt2:

 

Describing something as "prussik line that will last", is very vague. When you consider that prussik is a type of knot. Not a technique or climbing system. Any line or cord could essentially be called a "prussik line", or any other knot. It's still listed as accessory cord.

If it's not ce marked then you can't put it through loler. If you can't put it through loler then you can't use it for professional use. Doesn't mean people won't. I never put my friction cord through loler.

How would it get hot on the inside but not the outside when the outside is where all the friction happens?

 

I would assume when the outside material is a lot better at dissipating heat than the inner. Or maybe when the inner is a lot more susceptable to heat damage than the outer.

If the sheath is a good thermoconductor then heat will get to the core quickly, but the temperature of the sheath will still be as high or higher than the sheath.

 

The core contains dyneema, which has a low melting point (144-152 degrees C). If your hitch cord core is regularly being heated to this level I would suggest a career in knitting might be a good idea.

Think this would suggest that my second theory was prob more accurate than mate. If the core has a low melting point, this could explain core damage without sheath damage. I am however merely speculating, I dont actually know, but i'm sure you have already guessed that:thumbup1:
