I've always alternated the cross over on the legs. Only because I've always done it. Any advantage to not doing that? Does it make a difference?

I come from the top of the wraps and then go inside all the way. Same as deanos picture.

That way can sometimes cause hockling on some ropes.

 

Alternating the braids in and out is supposed to prevent it. Not always though.

Mine used to twist like a swine whichever way, Think it might have just been the rope, Then I got used to alternating the legs and just stuck with it!!

well i have went back to prussik and its great, i feel back at home with it, but i will still use the vt and spiderjack on little stuff.

I dont climb very much anymore really BUT i have tried a few systems over the years and prussik IS KING!!!
