Cedar removal

Been working on this Cedar the past couple of days. It was initially a bit of a contentious subject, the customer wanted the tree out whereas we wanted to thin and take some end weight out here and there. After climbing it however i was happier about the removal. There were many fracture points and included unions all over the tree, and the fork just above the wound was an accident waiting to happen. Video will give a better picture once its edited.

really nice pics there of what looks like a very efficient team in action, always nice to see ground staff keeping site clean during job as well as after, takes the strain out the job when you got conscientious team around you,

very motivating to see the good climbing/cutting positions that are being made on the forum, makes you strive for the better work practice, something to aspire to and stop the complacency,

fairplay, nice job all round there if you ask me

it was a steady job...for me anyway. one limb at a time then the groundies would clear it, all the brash went straight into the mobile incinerator...so a lot of hanging around for me.

the stumps coming out next week i believe, big vermeer in for the job.

pics were taken by gavin mostly...he visits here occassionally
