Woah woah woah sweet baby Jesus and the orphans. That sounds like fighting talk. Do you know where I live? Did you know that I know Micky "machine gun" Stockbridge?

Why don't you go and hammerite the rest of your van? Haha

On a fully serious note though. How long do you estimate before rust starts coming through and makin it look shabby again? I.e how often do you need to go to that trouble?my transit needs to look like that.

Depend how good the sealer is imo,an also how bad the rot is.

Cheap stuff lucky if its a year.

Hammerrite is expensive but is good, if you apply it like it says on the tin.

Looks like a nice and tidy job on the land rover there though.:thumbup1:

Do you "preen" yourself every day ?

Do you shave to make yourself look groomed

You are infact, polishing a turd :laugh1:

For the record, I shower once a day to stop bacteria forming. I shave because I don't want to give my kids stubble burn when I kiss them goodnight. I shave my head once every 6 weeks cos it's free and stop my head getting too hot and my hair going in my eyes. I wear clothes to keep my skin protected from harmfull uv rays and nettles and other undesirables and because I don't want to get arrested. Everything I do is for a legitimate maintenance reason, there's is no polishing going on. If anything, I keep a turd in good working order. Lol

The trick with spraying waxoil is to heat it up first, I filled the paint pot up and held a blowtorch underneath it until it boiled (30 seconds or so) because it boils at a very low temp or just heat the container in a pan of boiling water till it goes really thin like water.

Goes on great. Trouble with the clear stuff is it doesn't hide stuff like black does

:sneaky2:

i heated it up and it went on easy, like the look of the black better though

The coating should last a lot of years frank. its the preperation that counts' poor preperation gives piss poor performance. if you descale the rust down to a nice smoth dust free finish it will last. if you spray over crap it will only last weeks before rust appears again
