Silver spotted skipper on creeping thistle (I think...). He was a very obliging chap an allowed me to get in very close with the cam' phone.

 

It was absolutely nothing to do with what I was actually supposed to be looking at :blushing:!

Thanks Janey,I seem to get better definition with flikr as against photo B,and they are clicky get big pics too!

David,nice shot,but the bee looks like its had a night on the tiles!:biggrin:

They're definately an interesting group. I especially like the ones with the aquatic larval phase; how could you not love something called a rat tailed maggot???

 

What's your ID skill like with them? I can get it down to hoverfly.... And leave it there. They'e a nitemare :blushing:

Well,you might be a bit better than me then Janey..:biggrin:

I primarily enjoy the image capture,but this leads me into an interest in what they are about,and how they fit in, so I'm an early novice with a few shortcuts on my pc to ident websites!:001_smile:
