large beech with (Ustulina Deusta.) good job!

This beech had (Ustulina Deusta) it had 2 big cavaties about 15 - 20 ft up the stem so had to be removed. Due to the size of the tree with the buildings and obstacles underneath it, it had to be section felled carefully with the aid of a lowering system, Was a good day with my brother Lorry Thompson starting off doing the awkward bits with him having more experience then me finishing the top, and the help of our groundsman ross hodgson.

 

Tree was down by 3pm and we were in pub by 3.30pm for the friday pint ..........Happy days!!

Good job, any pics of pieces/branches being lowered? what d'you guys use for lowering?

To be honest wasn't much lowering managed to get away with a lot of it don't like shock loading when they got ustulina just took small bits off first and built my way up to see how it reacted felt really strong will probably get ripped to bits here but lowering equipment consists of a rope sometimes a block I'm a bit old fashioned for a young lad
