Just my thought mate. I have only ever used a combi a few times, in my opinion it wasn't as good as the dedicated machines i have. I know what you mean about only having one engine to maintain, look at it the other way though, if you get to a job and that engine doesn't start, its not just one tool you cant use, its all of them. If that machine breaks, all your tools break:thumbdown:

Stihl kombis are awesome tools

I dont own one just yet myself (i will soon tho) but a couple of guys i work with have them,They are great, Get the extention bar for it, you can have super long hedge cutters/saw then for the once in a while nightmare hedge cutting job :laugh1:

Works well as a strimmer too imo, Ive not used the blower head on a job but me and mr Lofthouse had a do with one at Justins show and it seemed pretty powerful

You wont regret buying one Ady, The lack of response is because most who have them, will still be out working, using them :thumbup1:

guess i'll be the guinea pig then...

am curios as the only difference is the fact that the attachment can be removed.. the hedge trimmer is the same, the engine is the same,, it's just removable,,

i get what you're saying about 1 engine,,but it also goes the other way, one engine to maintain... will see...

starting with the angled hedge trimmer for 2 upcoming jobs,,, then will look at the blower, (will save £200) on a stand alone...

Like I said mate, I've only used combi a couple of times. I personally prefer the individual tools, but i'm just old fashioned. I think it prob depends on which engine you get, they used to do various powers. Which model are you getting mate?

if its a stihl then there wont be any probs, i dont own the kombi but i swap the heads over on the strimmer, pole pruner, brush cutter all the time. And as far as maintenance is concerned you wont need any, it will run sweet as a nut all day everyday then one day it will need some extra choke or a little rev here and there so its time for a new one simples.
