Do you have a <18mm lens for the wide angle shots or just a screw on adaptor? My GF needs one but if she can get away with a cheap adaptor it would be handy as she is skint :D

Dude I bought a new Nikon 14-24 lens the other week - Not cheap!

pic 1... I'd prefer teh background a little more out of focus.

pic 2... I like it. maybe a bit more contrast to make it stand out more.

pic 3... I'd prefer the car to be razor sharp but the background panned with motion blur

pic 4... Doesn't work for me, sorry. a sponser on teh car would be good, motion blur on the wheels would be good but on the car it looks out of focus, even though the nose is sharp. the fire extinguisher and daffys are distracting.

pic 5... I like it, maybe get a bit closer so the bike is a bit more prominant but still retaining the wide angle with teh trees and the crowd. the barrier and the huge expanse down to the left are empty and don't really improve the picture. like all the sky dominating the frame it adds space to the picture

is that ok or is it too 'Stuffy' i use the canon fodder forums to be photographically abused.

Thanks for the feed-back, much’O appreciated! :thumbup1:

Those pictures were taken with my new D700 but with an old DX formatted lens, I’ll be buying a new ‘full-frame’ lens suitable for the camera shortly. I changed the point of focus purposely so that the camera fixes on one point of each car, throwing the rest out of focus and so creating the illusion of speed and movement.

I’ll stop messing around at the next meeting and go back to the old-school of getting the whole car in focus but still panning with a slow shutter-speed.

Thanks again, John. :001_smile:
