family/work truck!

hi all

 

after having a bambino a few weeks back i now need to get rid of my pickup.

 

i was after any sugestions for family friendly work truck, only thing is my budget is tight at 2k:thumbdown:

I recently got a Ford Maverick 2.7 TDi and have nothing but praise for it. Great carrying and towing, reasonable insurance and tax, bullet-proof Nissan engine (same one as they used in black cabs) and 30 mpg if you don't drive like a boy-racer. You should pick one of those up well within your budget

never heard of the famous D22 navara engine problem? you dont even need a bullet...they'll send a conrod out the engine block anywhere between 40K and 90K

get the early navara no probs with mine 155000 now and its been towing trailers almost every day

Totally different engine, I believe. Mine currently has 150k on the clock with no problems, and it's not unheard of for them to do 500k in a black cab.

Forgot to say, the Nissan Terrano of the same age is identical apart from some trim.

I'm in similar state. Do i go for the navara or the hilux? Or the ranger? Or a disco?

terrano can be expensive to repair

Dad had one and was quoted £450 for a steering pump.

 

Not sure on other parts/cost
