to give you an idea, just to cost tooling to make a new design of skate shoe sole unit, so nothing amazing, just a tread pattern,, you're looking in the region of $100,000 JUST for the tooling

why would they last any less amount of time? Do the scarpas etc not last very long compared to chainsaw boots? Was gonna order some 2moro.

neither was i.... I was talking about a new tread pattern that was all,, what you need to take into account is that you'd need a new last for EVERY size on offer,,,

 

 

it would cost several 100k to make a new design like you ask for, they'd need to sell thousands and thousands of pairs at VERY high prices just to cover the development costs..

 

hence chain boots looking fairly dated..
