357xp replacement

we are planning on trying 2 stihl ground saws instead of husq 357s what do you boys recomend to see how they compare will be run on 15" bars and will see how they fare against the 357s which the other 2 teams will run

the nearest to a husky 357 IMO is a stihl 341 but ditch the stock chain, change it for .325 pitch.

 

really pleased you said that as we will be running 325 have checked all the saws to make sure we can change them to 325 though when i rang stihl technical they tried to tell me you cant but have now confirmed it with them that you can though you have to fit a 9 tooth sprocket

used all 3 the 341 361 and 357 the husky comes out tops every time and scenario from a felling and limbing to somthing a bit more ggs up the tree chogging down on spikes but mine is only last years model i know when they came out they had a few issues

Anna and I tried a Stihl MS260 instead of our 357 for a while. We soon went back to the 357 !

 

Probably should have tried the 290 instead but heh.

 

The decompression buttons are pointless on smaller saws IMO it seems to make it harder to start !
