Seven years as an infantry soldier followed by 10 years in IT I decided I wanted to get back outside. Got a prospectus from my local college and the kid in me voted for tree climbing. Was 18 stone at the tail end of the IT career now down to 15.5 and loving every minute of it!

Joined the Navy at 16, worked on aircraft all my life. 23 years later I got a bit bored, spent all my time in an office with 3 computers on my desk and had to look after pain in the ass civies all day. Did a month long Arb course and aquired all the basic tickets. Left the navy, got a job and now I love being a pain in the ass civie, up trees all day.:willy:

Howya all, am new to this, so be gentle..

Just reading this thread and wondered, in the same way, what do you do afterwards? I mean I honestly love doing this job (even the leylandii, most days) the odd time get panicked when I think that I won't be able to do it forever;old age, leylandii fatigue::thefinger:......, and have no clue what'll come next. I've been starting and putting off the RFS cert for ages but I don't think there's that much point, I'm not going to set up on my own and there's not enough big companies around to try to work as a manager or whatever..

So any interesting stories of what climbers do when they stop climbing?
