Thats the point, a truck with a 3500Kg plate is classed as 3500Kg wether its empty or full.

As skyhuck says is the trailer plate you go by,that is why a lot of 3500 kg ifors etc are downplated to 2000 kg.

Oh, as I read it the trailer or chipper has to less than half the unladen weight of the vehicle so if that weight is 2200kg trailer or chipper can weigh up to 1300kg to make your 3500kg train weight. So as I see it that still leaves a payload of 1300 kg of the truck, to make the laden weight for the truck.

after reading all this waffel about towing am aye right in saying. aye drive a landy which is 3t towing and a chipper at 750kg on a cat b licence if i'm reading the threads right am tottaly legal. but if aye have a load of chip at 2t gross weight tottal 5t 750kg am aye still within my limit
