Hi

Greasing up the grapple on the trailer today and i noticed that there was a crack in the body. No camera with me so i have drawn it on this picture of the Botex grapple from the wilsons website.

How is the best way to fix it plug it up with a bit of weald or is it going to be a new part of for the grapple. It starts at the edge of the metal and goes quite a way in. It's taken some abuse over the years and at one point the rotor did fall off.

Thanks

Andy

If it were mine, I would grind the crack out creating a slot and then get that wielded.

I don't have three phase, so my wielder would be a bit small for a job like that, so I would take it too a pro.

Thats along the lines of what i was thinking. Looks like it will be taking a trip to Browns on Monday to be plated. Thanks for your help guys.

Grinding a slot would work ok if the crack is fairly straight, and you are welding it up with mig. If the crack is jagged like you have drawn it it would be a bit more tricky.

Good point, might be easier to drill a series of holes if its jagged.
