Forestry week

Bit of a change this week.

 

Straight felling some big Oak and Sweet Chestnut in a mates wood.

 

I'll add more pics later, but here's the first Chestnut. Inclusion at base, hence the high fell.

 

I'd forgotten how challenging forestry work can be, and tiring!

How bigs that hinge:scared1: Proper foresters shoot the hinge, don't be ripping them stems. I don,t know whats the world coming to when tree fellers wear red boots, orange wellies are the only coloured boots propper wood cutters wear:lol:

Feast your eyes on that Ash hinge Deano! (Forgot to mention there are a few Ash to take out).

 

It's a bit weird thinking that in a domestic setting some of these trees would cost thousands to get down - if only!

 

Picked up my O2O earlier and it felt like a toy!

have you got a bad back ?:sneaky2: thers more timber in the stock than in the tree :laugh1: BEND YOUR BACK LAD , if you wer @ arther greens youd be sacked for that ,wasting good timber ,i dont know you youngens today :biggrin:
