Hamas big reduction/pruning thread!

By any chance did you have a skin reaction to the walnut?? I took one down on Thursday and gave me lots of tiny blisters all over my arms and marks on my face. Apparantly the sap is toxic in black walnuts and has been known to do this, obviously I only found this out after doing the work!

I did! Had some red blotches on back of my hands which then scqbbed over slightly, all but faded now. Seemed similar to the rash giant hogweed can give you but not as severe.

 

My boss, who was grounding, didn't have any marks and neither of us were wearing gloves.

Had an oak with inonotus at the base. More of a deadwood than reduction but was just nipping a few ends. Didn't want to hit it too hard so to leave internal growth for future retrenchment and the side profile of the tree, you can see how sparse the right looks compared to the left (its all one tree). no before pics unfortunately but in the second pic you can see the difference between our two styles .

There was a reason to leave the bottom righthand leaders longer but for a matter of discussion i would like criticism on what you lads see and think, thanks guys .

(Background info ) customer wanted a 20% reduction off the juglans and also wanted a heavy lift of the sheds
