Lovely reduction, I'm rather fond of purple beech

On the TPO side of things, if the trees owner likes it and is obviously ensuring its proper and ongoing care, there is no need to protect it, is there? Ie, not 'expedient in the interests of amenity'.

This is one from the other day took about 11/2 hr maybe a bit heavy on the tips. Also had to try to balance the front most of it was blown out. Makes the side look even heavier. Hope to revisit in a few years. I like reducing willows instead of pollarding them.

 

Bit about me 11months climbing no previous experience in tree.

Little opinion nugget.

 

What depresses me about our trade is finding your self doing rubbish jobs. Well hard reductions for people I love minor reductions. I normally tell the customer if they have a hard reduction in no time it will be almost the same size. Where as a minor reduction it won't put out rapid growing water sprouts. Went passed a tree that was done two years ago oddly enough it has loads of sprouts and looks huge.

I was well pleased with it, then the client says "we have had this done three times now over the last 20 years, but this is the best its ever been done" cant beat that kinda comment.

 

 

Had this with a small eucalyptus. Kept getting told "customers won't like that should of just cut back to previous" basically became a Pollard. But I put muffs on and got on with it thinning by a third and taking third of height. And cut long story short had to price go back to look at some other work and customer said it was the best it's ever been I didn't mention I did but was silently smug
