i'd like to know the legalitys of that trailer-not as in nicked, but if its a home build or what the plate says/its rating

Until the UK government gets into line with much of the rest of Europe outside the use and construction regulations there isn’t much regulation on trailers up to 3500kg. In other countries trailers are subject to testing.

The chipper mounted that far forward will make the trailer nose heavy which will make it a handful to tow. It doesn’t have any spray suppression which it needs. Other than that, as long as the brakes work and the lights conform away you go.

I just like the idea. Fit a decent little micro chipper like a Greenmech or Jobeau so that it can be quick released and you got the ideal little combo for a small outfit. Release the chipper for those leave chip on site jobs or bring along the combo and cart the chip away.

Agree Mick, Would be a great little set up that!

We are getting close to the end of being permitted to build our own trailers without type approval. There is to be one off approval for self builds similar to kit cars and imports, but at a cost.:001_smile:

it is what it is, a good idea indeed, its a trailer with a wee chipper as an extra, not an awesome chipper that has a trailer attached. I dont think it will be nose heavy, the guy who built that obviously put some thought into it. If that goes for under £800 then its a bargain. I would put a devide in it, front for chip, back for logs and bulk bags of sweepings thrown ontop.
