I have one motor that was made in 1970… it can sit there and it doesn't cost you a penny.

Joyful motoring.

Part of the reason I was exploring the option of a small mog to replace my transit, No tax and no MOT!

You get it. I'm getting to the point where I simply refuse to live my life suffering wankerish forms etc. It can just all **************** off.

Really fancy one of these. Not totally practical but would bring a lot of smiles to a lot of faces.

This one too new but don't they just look lovely. I'm posting it now, fully expecting to see it on here with Stephen Blair written on the side in about a fortnight's time.

Brilliant.

You could mount a crane on the back.

Big triple ladder in the bed, feet jammed in at the tailgate and lash the bottom section to the headboard frame. Tip it up a bit and push the sections out.

Rung-ho: Rehearsing the Forward Ladder in 1953. The rider goes up and over while the bike is still moving

Plus, as Mick often and rightly points out, the vehicle creates the proper impression. Instead of saying, “Big Daddy Dempsey is here to hammer your bush.” (as a big new Ford Ranger might), a hilariously small truck says, “I very obviously don’t care what you think.” which is more my vibe.

Plus an ideal platform for Sailor to delight people at traffic lights. Or steal their Greggs.

Back in the mid eighties I had a job selling Wynns Oils to garages all over London.

20 garages a day on my call sheet, all in an Honda Acty van or similar, absolutely hideous, never sold a goddam thing in 3 or so weeks.

Spent the last week just sitting in car parks till it was time to go back to the office.

Last straw was when some quick thinking Asian garage owners actually gave me back a couple of trays of the stuff, which infuriated my boss.

Dark days.
